Configuring GitHub App

In order to utilize PWRCI runners, you'll need to install our GitHub App using this link.

Configuring Runners

To use PWRCI runners in your GitHub Actions workflows, you can specify the desired image and architecture with the runs-on property:

name: CI
jobs:
  test:
name: "Run on native POWER architecture"
    runs-on: ghcr.io/pwrci/debian-runner-ppc64le:13-sm
    steps:
      - uses: actions/checkout@v7
      - name: Verify Architecture
        run: uname -m # Expected: ppc64le

Available Runner Images

For Linux runners, we utilize standard Debian images. This ensures fast startup times and a predictable execution environment.

Available Runner Resource Classes

By default, a single PWRCI runner uses Small resources. Depending on your subscription tier, you can target larger resource classes by appending the corresponding suffix to your image tag.

Resource Class Suffix CPUs Memory Disk Required Tier
Small :13-sm (default) 2 4 GB 50 GB Tier 1 or Tier 2
Medium :13-md 4 8 GB 50 GB Tier 2 Only

Runner Execution Environments

PWRCI runners utilize ephemeral virtual machines for each workflow. Powered by LXD virtual machines, they deliver full isolation, fast startup times, and an environment you have full control over.
